Skytop Lodge is a luxurious escape nestled at the top of the Poconos Mountains. Since 1928, the lodge has been a destination for romantic vacations and gatherings where families relax, unwind, explore, have fun, and make memories in their own way. The inn has an old-world charm, and the lodges and cottages seamlessly blend with all the beautiful nature in the surrounding area.

1. Skytop Lodge Rooms and Suites

Skytop Lodge Rooms and Suites

The rooms at Skytop Lodge offer more than just a view. Every well-appointed accommodation is dedicated to help guests have an exceptional stay as they enjoy the luxurious amenities of the cottage while being surrounded by nature.

Skytop has maintained its legacy of keeping harmony between luxurious comfort and nature within its lodge rooms. After the lodge redesigned the accommodations, guests can now choose from three signature designs on top of the individually designed rooms inspired by Skytop historical figures.

The Water Collection draws its inspiration from the Indian Ladder Falls and many other waterfalls around Skytop, all of which are great places to visit. The room is beautifully tinted with shades of blue and gray, capturing the fluid motion of water. This accommodation also has hand painted canvasses by Ann McGuire, the designer of the room.

Filled with schemes of green and earthy colors, the Garden Collection was designed as a tribute to the Olmstead Brothers, the landscaping geniuses who designed Central Park as well as the original landscape for Skytop Lodge. This spacious accommodation represents love and marriage and uses colors that were popular in 1927 topography.

Of course, the Skytop Lodge simply has to have a room dedicated to the Pocono Mountains. The Mountain Collection recreates the environment of the lodge’s surroundings with deep red hues from shale deposits while Ann McGuire’s hand painted canvas depicts mountains, caves, and rugged lines that capture the view of the mountain.

There are many other lodges available to guests. At Skytop Lodge, they get to choose the type of accommodation they want as well as the view they want to see.

The Main Lodge is among the oldest and has the most diverse set of accommodations, which feature a 19th century design. The rooms are spacious and come with luxurious amenities. Rooms include the Deluxe Room, Deluxe Full, Deluxe King Garden, Premium King, Premium King Garden, Superior King, Superior Double Garden View, Lodge Junior Suite, Lodge Grand Suite, and Executive King Suite.

2. The Inn at Skytop & The Cottages

The Inn at Skytop & The Cottages

Separate from the Main Lodge, The Inn at Skytop is nestled against the lodge’s award winning golf course, providing a perfect oasis with a grand view of the landscape that makes up the course. The inn has a two-story atrium, a lobby, a natural stone fireplace, a seasonal restaurant, a shop and locker, and 18 luxurious connected guest rooms, categorized into Inn King and Inn Grand King.

Skytop also has The Cottages, which are storybook cottages with four guest rooms each, making them ideal for families. They’re located about 100 yards from the main lodge, so they provide some seclusion and more immersion in the surrounding nature. These accommodations provide the perfect avenue for experiencing what it’s like to live in a countryside home. The rooms are categorized into Cottage King and Cottage Double, which are distinguished by the king sized or double beds, respectively.

Although they are located close to the Poconos streams, the Stream Side Cottages offer stream, golf, and lodge views as well. They have a contemporary design, and each cottage has four bedrooms. Cottages also boast a large porch, gas fireplace, in-room safe, refrigerator, and extra-large bathrooms.

3. Dining

Dining

Much like the accommodations, the dining experience at the Skytop Lodge is quite diverse, with two dining areas, two bars, and even a place to have tea. This means that the Lodge is able to cater to all kinds of tastes and dining preferences, all of which are satisfied with flavors that are nearly a century in the making.

At the Main Lodge is the Windsor Dining Room where contemporary cuisine is served in a classic setting. The Inn at the Skytop has the Lakeview Restaurant, a seasonal restaurant overlooking the lodge’s 18-hole golf course. Both restaurants serve dishes made only by their finest chefs, who use fresh and locally produced ingredients.

Overlooking Skytop’s first tee is the Fairview Bar, which is a great place for friends to hang out for some beverages before heading out to the golf course. Meanwhile, the Tap Room is another place guests can go for casual lunches, cocktails, and conversations with company. For some snacks, tea, and milkshakes, there’s the Tea Room.

The Windsor Dining Room requires formal attire while the Lakeview restaurant calls for something along the lines of smart casual. But wherever guests may go, these restaurants and bars maintain their refined atmosphere all day.
