The Cedar Valley Resort features eight cozy log cabins with multiple bedrooms, private bathrooms, comfortable living areas and fully equipped kitchens. Cabins have between three and six bedrooms with comfy double, queen, or king-size beds in plush linens, and en-suite or private bathrooms with shower/bath combinations, thick towels, and branded toiletries. Spacious living rooms have armchairs, sofas, and gas fireplaces, and dining areas have eight-foot log tables and chairs for up to six guests. Fully equipped kitchens feature knotty oak cabinets, fridges, microwaves, dishwashers, and microwaves. Cabins are air-conditioned and have wide covered porches with outdoor furnishings and gorgeous views of the surrounding woodlands. Cabins have modern conveniences such as flat-screen televisions with cable channels and Blu-ray DVD players, kitchen utensils and crockery for self-catering, and complimentary wireless Internet. Cabins have fire pits, charcoal grills, picnic tables, and bird and squirrel feeders.

The Cedar Valley Resort features an array of amenities, facilities, and guest services, including multiple playgrounds, basketball and volleyball courts, bocce, cornhole and horseshoes, frisbee and ladder golf, and access to the Root River Bike Trail, which runs through the resort. Canoes, tubes, and kayaks are available to rent, and there is a bike shuttle to Lanesboro, Fountain, Preston, Rushford, Harmony, and Houston. Recreational activities in winter include a range of snow-based sports, bird-watching, and horse-drawn sleigh rides, while other guest services include in-room spa massages, an onsite gift shop and a variety of games, puzzles, cards and other forms of entertainment for guests to enjoy.

Located in the Root River Valley, the Cedar Valley Resort is within easy access to a variety of outdoor and seasonal recreational activities. The resort is bisected by the 60-mile Root River Trail, a hiking and mountain biking trail that runs through the beautiful Root River Valley and along the Root River. Other activities in canoeing, fishing, kayaking, tubing, and trout fishing, while a few minutes’ away in Whalan guests can enjoy mini golf at Gator Greens, Bluff Country jeep tours, and Sveen Wagon and sleigh rides. In the nearby town of Lanesboro, there are Amish tours, a variety of unique shops and boutiques and the Lanesboro Art Center, as well as restaurants, coffee shops, and cafés. A short drive will take you to the Fillmore County History Center, the Wood Carving Museum, and the Eagle Bluff Environmental Center. Slightly further afield is the Mystery Cave in Spring Valley, the Niagara Cave in Harmony, the National Polk & Young Bow Hunting Museum, and the Houston Nature Center.
