Chief Shakes Hot Springs
The Chief Shakes Hot Springs is a popular U.S Forest Service-operated hot springs in the state of Alaska. It’s a particularly popular spot among locals, especially on holidays and the weekends. Found in the Stikine-LeConte Wilderness area near Wrangell, the day-use hot springs facility consists of an open-air hot tub and one sheltered tub, along with outhouses, benches, and dressing rooms. The Chief Shakes Hot Springs can be reached via a short trail located off of Hot Springs Slough. There are no overnight accommodations available at the springs, and visitors should try to come on a weekday if possible.

Circle Hot Springs
The Circle Hot Springs, located around one hundred miles from Fairbanks in the Yukon-Koyukuk Census Area, is an unincorporated community and hot springs area along Steese Highway. The hot springs are situated approximately eight miles off of Mile 127.8. In addition to being accessed by the highway, the springs can also be reached by plane from the Circle Hot Springs Airport. Surrounding the Circle Hot Springs is an area with a rich mining history that still retains a degree of folklore and mystery. These hot springs were discovered by prospector William Greats back in the year 1893.

Kanuti Hot Springs
A very remote hot springs area, the Kanuti Hot Springs can be found around twelve miles off of Mile 103 on the Dalton Highway. During the summer season, numerous visitors take the 14-mile float trip from the Dalton Highway crossing down the scenic Kanuti River, hiking back over the Caribou Mountain. Offering a memorable hot springs experience, reaching the Kanuti Hot Springs can be a true backcountry hiking adventure for those with excellent gear and backcountry experience. The geothermal hot springs reach temperatures of 110 degrees to 150 degrees Fahrenheit, with the cool water of the river nearby.
