There are several activities in the area, including half marathons, geocaching and county fairs. Trout season opens in mid-April. These cabins are also managed by Cook Forest Cabins. They are situated near Leeper, at the northern corner of the Cook Forest State Park. The park is a National Natural Monument and has been rated among America's top 50 parks. There are seven log cabins, sleeping between two and eight guests, which would include infants and children. They are pet friendly, subject to an additional fee and a limit of two per cabin. There are 47 miles of hiking trails and 24 miles of multi-purpose tracks in the park. There are 10 cabins on the 35 acre property which have sleeping facilities for 2-4 people each. Guests can fish in the pond or take long walks on the property and country roads. Amish neighbors often drive by in their horse-drawn buggies. There is a long tradition of weekly communal cookouts where guests meet each other. Many guests have become lifelong friends as they meet up year after year. There is no television or Wifi reception on the property, except at the pavilion.

There are 11 two-bedroom cabins available in the 16725 acre Moraine State Park. The lakeside park was established on a rehabilitated oil and gas drilling site. The cabins have beds for six people each. There are also two rustic camp sites, available for groups only. Lake Arthur which has a 42 mile long shoreline, has 9 public boat launches. Motorized vessels with engines up to 20 hp are permitted on the 3225 acre lake. Windsurfing, fishing and swimming are also popular pursuits. During winter, hardy fishermen catch fish under the ice.
