The Landing Resort offers 77 guest rooms with traditional yet sleek interior design – think carved wooden furniture, shiny chrome accents, stone walls and ornamentally framed mirrors. This complements the sharp black and white color scheme, which is enlivened with splashes of crimson.
All of the guest bedrooms feature stone fireplaces with either twin leather club chairs or a cozy loveseat to nestle up on. They also offer high-speed Internet access, heated bathroom floors, premium L’Occitane bath products and a private balcony or deck across the board. If you’re after a view of Lake Tahoe’s serene waters, make sure not to book the Garden King or 3 Bedroom Suite with Kitchen options, as these instead showcase the verdant forest surroundings.
Premium Guest Rooms are the standard accommodation option at The Landing and were completed in December 2013. These rooms offer a typical example of what all guest bedrooms have. They come with a wet bar, refrigerator, a 55” LCD flat screen television, granite writing desk, coffee maker, smartphone compatible alarm clocks, ironing supplies and an in-room safe.
The en suite bathrooms are splendidly equipped with a walk-in shower complete with rain head, a separate soaking tub with bubble jets and a heated toilet seat. The sleeping arrangements are available as one king-sized room or instead with two queen-sized beds to sleep up to four people. The beds are pillow-topped with sateen linens and plush goose down pillows and comforters.
Each bedroom opens onto its own generously sized private balcony complete with outdoor seating. While the view does vary by room, the Premium Guest Rooms all promise a partial view of the lake.
Guests in the Superior Lake Rooms exchange the comfort of a private jetted tub in their bathroom for an outside deck instead. Like the Premium Guest Room, it is available with one king-sized or two queen-sized beds, but its main draw is the street-level patio with partial views of both Lake Tahoe and also the surrounding Sierra mountains. The alarm clock is also specifically iPod compatible, for any discerning Apple fans.
The Premium Lake Front Suites are much like the standard guest bedrooms but offer additional space. Their main selling point is the fantastic vista view of Lake Tahoe from the windows, showcasing the crystal clear waters and stunning sandy beach. The private balcony is also larger, making for a more immersive view of the lake from the comfort of your own private room. The king-sized bed is non-negotiable, making the suites marketed towards couples or solo guests.
Families staying at The Landing are catered for by the Three Bedroom Suite with Kitchen option, which offers three bedrooms (with a maximum occupancy of six people) and two bathrooms for rent. The three stone fireplaces are surrounded by comfortable seating and there is a large private patio offering views of the nearby forest. The kitchen comes with a refrigerator, freezer, microwave and oven to ensure guests can cater for themselves.
The final room choice is a Garden King Room which has a desirable corner location. The windows and extensive private balcony again showcase the nearby forest, but there is easy access to the adjacent Lake Tahoe beach thanks to exterior hallways.
