The Inn is situated right at the intersection between Main and Middle Streets in Washington, Virginia. The establishment is easy to spot because of the eight flags in front of the dark blue building. Guest accommodations at The Inn at Little Washington consist of 24 bedrooms and suites created by Londan stage and set designer Joyce Evans, whose contributions have become part of her life’s work. Furnished with pieces shipped all the way from England, the Inn has a wide range of accommodations, from well-appointed bedrooms to the luxurious two-story suites with balconies and breath-taking views. All accommodations are distributed across different buildings.

There are six luxurious rooms in The Parsonage, a 6,000 sq. ft. Victorian style house designed way back in the 1850’s. It has since undergone renovations and has been restored to the beautiful house it is today. The Parsonage got its name for its close proximity to the Trinity Episcopal Church. Aside from cosy fireplaces, the rooms in The Parsonage have bay windows that overlook the village.

The Mayor’s House is one of the oldest structures in the area. In fact, it has been confirmed that parts of the cottage date back to the 1740s. This was, in fact, the residence of a former mayor of Washington. It has a formal sitting area with a gas fireplace, while the bedroom features a king sized four-poster bed and a wood burning fireplace. The blue and white bathroom has hand-painted Portuguese tiles, a double vanity, whirlpool tub, and a separate shower. Just outside is a walled garden where guests can enjoy their afternoon tea.

Fronting Main Street is the Gamekeeper’s Cottage, which used to be a simple appendage of the Mayor’s House. This romantic 1740’s suite comes with an outdoor dining pavilion where guests can enjoy their breakfasts with a wonderful morning view. Guests will feel like they are on a safari thanks to the nearby natural surroundings. Although the cottage has undergone renewals, it still maintains its rustic feel. Just a stone’s throw from the inn’s main building is the Claiborne House, a 3,600 sq. ft. cottage that overlooks the garden. This cottage with a two-story veranda has two bedrooms, two baths, a living room, a media room, and a dining room. Patrick O’Connell’s famous American cuisine has drawn people from all over the world, and patrons savor their meals in a dining room that is pure fantasy, filled with rose colored lampshades and an air of luxury. Dinner guests can enjoy their meals around intimately lit tables, or they can go to one of the kitchen tables nestled on each side of the baronial fireplace. These tables can accommodate up to six guests. There is also seating in this area for couples looking for a romantic setting. In addition, it is possible to set a table for a dinner of 12 for events such as special celebrations.

Another interesting fact about dining at The Inn at Little Washington is that the kitchen where all the dishes come from is quite the sight to behold. Dubbed by many as one of the most beautiful kitchens in the world, the kitchen drew its inspiration from the dairy room of the Windsor Castle, designed by none other than Joyce Evans herself. The walls are also covered in hand painted colors of blue and white Portuguese tiles. The kitchen is also equipped with a huge Vulcan range that was ordered from France and made with a copper top and brass hood. Those who dine at the kitchen tables will be able to witness how beautiful the kitchen really is.

The Inn at Little Washington also offers approximately 2,400 different kinds of wine from all over the world. The list has a special focus on European and Californian tastes, showcasing the best of each region. The Conference Table can seat up to 24 while the Theatre Style can hold up to 40. Finally, a classroom style setting can be set up for up to 20 participants.
