Guests at Cape Rey can choose from several categories of suites. There is a room to accommodate everyone’s needs and guests will enjoy the fresh ocean air which breezes through open patio doors as well as through the windows in each room.

The Ocean View Suites are about 1,000 square feet of luxurious living space, located at the corner points of the hotel. Each room features a spacious dining area for in-room meals and offers a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean. There is a living room with a wet bar and a separate parlor area with a queen size pull out sofa bed. For in-room entertainment there is a 50 inch HDTV in the living room and a 42 inch HDTV in the bedroom, both with premium channels. The Ocean View Balcony Suites offer a personal view of the Pacific from a private balcony with patio chairs, perfect for enjoying a morning coffee overlooking the ocean. They are approximately 400 square feet in size and are located on the upper floors of the hotel. This suite is available with either two queen beds, a king bed or a king bed with a pull out sofa. Each suite has a microwave and mini-fridge as well as a 42 inch HDTV for in-room entertainment.

The Pool/Partial Ocean View Rooms are a more economical option, offering either a partial view of the ocean or a view of the private hotel pool from the window. These rooms are approximately 400 square feet of living space and include the choice of two queen beds, a king bed or a king bed with pull out sofa. Each room comes equipped with a microwave and mini-fridge.

The most budget-friendly room choice is the Traditional Guest Room which is available with a choice of a king bed, two queen beds or a king bed with pull out sofa. The room size is approximately 400 square feet, and the view from the window is of the hotel grounds. Guests have use of a microwave and mini-fridge in these rooms for added convenience.

Every room or suite at Cape Rey includes use of robes and slippers, daily newspaper, an in-room safe for keeping valuables and high-speed Internet connection via Wi-Fi as well as wired connections in-room.

 

At Cape Rey, guests can enjoy the SoCal inspired menu at Chandler’s, the signature on-site restaurant. Chandler’s is open seven days a week and offers dining either indoors or outdoors, both with stunning ocean views and sunsets galore.

Located within Chandler’s is Chandler’s Bar and Lounge for guests to relax and unwind with a glass of California wine or a signature cocktail from the extensive bar menu. The bar also serves craft beers from local San Diego brewers, which are well-known for their fine ale. The wine menu features selections not only from the local area but from Italy, and France as well as other countries.

The outdoor area features comfortable outdoor sofas and loveseats surrounding marble encased fire pits to enjoy drinks under the stars in the ocean breeze. The bar area features bar height chairs along the marble-topped bar counter. The ambient candle light lanterns add to the cozy, relaxed atmosphere. On select evenings, guests can enjoy live music or entertainment. Each day, guests can enjoy Happy Hour from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. where specials may include a special shared bites menu or $2 off signature cocktails, glasses of wine or draught beer.

 

Cape Rey is home to Ocean Crest Spa, which was named one of the Top Five Hotel Spas in the U.S. by Travel & Escape. Guests will feel pampered from head to toe and relaxed in mind and spirit. The spa strives to offer environmentally friendly treatments and use eco-friendly and responsible products.

The extensive spa treatments include massages, facials, hand and foot treatments, as well as an array of skin care options. Guests of all ages are welcome, but for children under 18 it is asked that a parent or guardian is present in the room at the time of treatment. Other favorite courses include Torrey Pines, which has hosted the US Open; La Costa, with two courses to choose from; and Aviara Golf Club, which is known for its lush greenery and the fact that the course overlooks the Batiquitos Lagoon and the Encinitas Ranch with cliffs, the lagoon and rolling hills to set the scene.
