The Yampa River Botanic Park is a six-acre botanical garden situated at an altitude of 6,800 feet on Pamela Lane just outside of Steamboat Springs. Yampa River Core Trail is 7.5 miles long and located along the Yampa River and runs from one side of Steamboat Springs to the other. The trail is paved and appealing to people of all ages: you can either walk or ride a bicycle on the scenic trail.

Tucked between the towns of Buena Vista and Salida, CO, Mount Princeton Hot Springs Resort has much to offer. Mt. At Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort there are five different lodging locations and options.

Creekside – These cabins opened recently in 2018 and is made up of 25 different units. Creekside can be found in three locations throughout the resort. Creekside visitors have easy access to the nearby Chalk Creek. These units include brand new amenities, a modern design and reliable Wi-Fi access. Guests have the choice of a king-size bed or two queen-size beds. The rooms are approximately 350-500sf. Many of the new suites include a fireplace and kitchenette. Creekside rooms can accommodate up to four adults.

Mount Princeton’s Cabins – Guests find that these cabins are also a popular choice. These Cabins include a private patio. They are conveniently located a short walking distance from the major attractions the resort has to offer, including the hot springs and spa areas. The cabins include a fireplace, stovetop, stereo, satellite television, spa passes, covered porch, and fully stocked bathrooms. Full-size cabins include one king-size bed, two queen-size beds in the loft and a queen-size sofa sleeper and will can accommodate up to six people. Guests can upgrade this style of cabin to The Large Cabin, which sleeps up to eight people with two bedrooms, each with a queen-size bed, two queen-size beds in the loft and a queen-size sofa sleeper. At the Resort’s Spa and Club, guests 16 and older can completely unwind by taking a dip in the popular Cascading Hot Springs and Chalk Creek Hot Springs. Surrounding the Chalk Creek Hot Springs are smooth, circular stones that provide natural warmth to guests. They are approximately one foot in depth, with a sand covered bottom.

Vacationers can then choose to cool off in the exercise pool that sits at a comfortable 95 degrees. Guests could also go to a more historic location such as the Mount Princeton Hot Springs Resort Bath House. The Yampa River Botanic Park is home to 50 different gardens, ranging from herb and hidden to pioneer and pond gardens. Sascha's Rock Garden overlooks the Yampa River and features alpine blooms from around the world, and the Annuals Garden is home to a variety of annuals that are replanted every year. The Rose Garden has a variety of shrub roses grown in a manicured garden of raised beds next to West Creek, and Dorothy's Garden is a dry xeric garden with an array of native plants which attract a variety of pollinators.

The Stumpyland Fairy Garden is a beautiful place for children to explore, discover and use their imagination to learn more about plants and the environment in which they live.

The Yampa River Botanic Park is also home to an array of sculptures which are dotted throughout the Park, including The Turtle, The Frog, Peter, Cherish, The Trumpeter, Nammu, Wings, Buddha, The Stag, and the Apollo Armillary Sundial.

The Yampa River Botanic Park is located at 100 Pamela Lane in Steamboat Springs and is open to the public for free from dawn to dusk from May through October.
