Goodyear, AZ is a suburb of Phoenix that is best known for its professional sporting venues, including the famed Goodyear Ballpark, the spring training facility for the major league Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Indians baseball teams. The ballpark was designed by Kansas City’s HOK Sport architectural firm and showcases two dedicated training fields, a main field with seating for more than 10,000, and seven additional fields available for use by the City of Goodyear for a variety of sporting purposes. The ballpark is part of the larger Goodyear Recreational Complex, which also hosts public special events throughout the year, including a Star Spangled 4th celebration, a Home Plate for the Holidays event, and an annual fall festival.

2. Estrella Mountain Regional Park

Estrella Mountain Regional Park is a 20,000-acre public park located between Goodyear and Phoenix that showcases desert, mountain, and wetland ecosystems and environments. The park was the first park incorporated as part of the Maricopa County Park System in 1954, located at the convergence of the Agua Fria and Gila Rivers. It is home to the region’s only grass picnic area, which spans more than 65 acres, along with more than 33 miles of hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails. Other amenities include a golf course, public fishing areas, and day-use baseball fields. Popular trails include the easy 2.4-mile Baseline Trail and the longer 8.7-mile Pederson Trail. The Bible Museum is operated by the owners of Greatsite, the world’s largest online archive and dealer of rare and antique religious texts, manuscripts, and theology books. Its collection was founded in 1988 by Jonathan Byrd and Craig Lampe, who began collecting rare and historic Bibles and other texts as part of an anthropology project related to the role of Christianity in American politics and government. Goodyear’s Bible Museum showcases world-renowned artifacts from the Greatsite collection, including portions of the Dead Sea Scrolls, copies of the original 1611 King James Version Bible, and pages from the Gutenberg Bible.
